Styrofoam

Styrofoam is a material consisting of undefined cells. Styrofoam has no exact size or shape. And as we know very well from our daily lives, a piece of Styrofoam has a history but no future, and is normally not appreciable in its daily form. With this work Kim De Ruysscher focusses on an unimportant part of everyday life. Kim De Ruysscher immortalized this piece of Styrofoam in a refined material with a strong art historical background: white Statuario marble from Italy.
