Round
Cube

This site-specific work is called 'Round Cube', a round square. It is a textual paradox with the White Cube - a much debated term within the contemporary art world - that of an empty gallery with white walls and a white painted room. 'Round Cube' imagines an impossible game. The ball is so big that it will get stuck between the walls and ceiling and can therefore not control its game. Because the ball is squeezed, it gives a feeling of frustration, as if it wants to escape. These frustrating feelings towards the lightness of the familiar, -yet surreal image, provide a touch of humour.
